Hmmmm… i don’t know too many heroes, but I think that’s because the real ones aren’t looking for fame and fortune and are therefore not splattered all over the news.
To the second question, no, I don’t think so. It is in tough times that great men and women arise, it is in pain and suffering that we see what men are really made of. When the fires of doubt, fear, war, oppression and hate consume a land, then one can see who stands tall and who was a speck of dust just waiting to be blown away, or dry piece of grass which can only look forward to becoming burnt ash. Let fire reign down and the hearts of men be tested! May the humble be honoured and the proud be shamed!
There is such a thing as a hero. He lives in a mans heart. Some embrace him. Others cast him out or shrug him off as childhood fantasies. I want to save damsels in distress, battle fierce dragons, free slaves and burn down wicked strongholds. Whoever said these things are fairytales is a fool, he lives in ignorance and cares not for any matters of the heart or true love.
